The austenitic material of stainless steel grade 253MA has very high strength with a superior oxidation resistance of up to 2000 °F, which enhances its resistance to high temperatures. Further addition of carbon, nitrogen, and rare earth elements provides much-improved creep strength, allowing it to perform generally at a temperature higher than 550 °C. It is for this reason that our 253MA sheets and plates are, therefore, specially designed to work in the temperature range of 850–1100 °C.
